Girl and Dragon North Coast 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Girl and Dragon North Coast 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $9.34-$13.99, 89 points, poured core black trending maroon toward the clear wine ring and leggy glass bowl.
Aromas of black currant, coffee, sandalwood, and lilac with hints of violets were excellent.
Full-bodied with fair acidity and mellow tannins managed lush flavors of anise, blueberries, blackberries, Kahlua, and a delicious crème soda.
Finished well on the trailing palate, easy spices, and a sweet-spot 13.5% alcohol.
I wanted an inexpensive red wine to pair with my veggie burger, and this one exceeded my expectations, but I think this will appeal to those which prefer Apothic-typical red wines over lean Bordeaux-styled red wines.
