Merry Edwards Russian River Valley 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

$33.29-$39.99, 92 points, began with a bright brass color.
Aromatic smells of melon, tangerine, honeysuckle, and a hint of vanilla were very good.
The light-plus body carried good acidity without the rough edges.
The overall flavors were delicious, appropriately reflected the aromas, and transitioned well into the long finish with a surprisingly robust 14.1% alcohol, hints of oak, and a touch of ginger.

  1. Yikes! Just wouldn't pay that for an SB.

  2. VG: I hear that!
Same price as the Sottswoode, and three or four others were in the $20s; I wanted to do as an exhaustive tasting of the 2013 Cali Sav-blanc I could (never did anything close with another varietal).
