Fattoire Barbi 2010 Brunello Di Montalcino

Fattoire Barbi 2010 Brunello Di Montalcino, $35.69-$41.99, 93 points, poured an unusual core maroon color grading brick red toward the glass edge with its broad clear wine ring.
The rather shy nose did show good cherry notes and a floral component with hints of leather.
Medium to medium-plus body carried strident tannins and vibrant acidity with oaky cherry flavors marked by hints of eucalyptus, black tea, mint, and cola notes.
Finished long on the trailing palate, truffle, red licorice, white pepper, and a warm 14.5% alcohol.

  1. Love this wine, D. It was one of my favorites of the vintage given it's reasonable price. I went long.
