Bodegas La Cartuja 2013 Priorat Red Wine,
$14.99-$19.99, 90 points, poured opaque reds trending deep cranberry red toward the glass bowl and transparent wine ring.
Subtle aromas of chocolate, violets, and black grape were good.
Medium to medium-plus body managed firm tannins with good acidity.
Flavors of cola, a wet warm stoniness, with eucalyptus and boysenberry were excellent.
Finished on the trailing palate, a warm 14.5% alcohol, white pepper, and anise were excellent as well.
Varietals were 70% Garnacha and 30% CariƱena .
Paired perfectly with my barbecued baby-backs.
