Château Godeau Saint Émilion Grand Cru 2019 Bordeaux Red Wine, $23.99-$39.99, 91 points, poured core black grading to an unfiltered pomegranate red with stained glass sheeting and a clear meniscus.
Aromas of rose pedal, perfumed forest floor, cinnamon, cedar, and sun-warmed blackberries were outstanding.
This Saint Émilion Grand Cru was soft, opulent, plumy, appropriately acidic, and yet showed good tannin support.
Finished long on the trailing palate, hints of iron, red pepper, a tad astringent, and with a big 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my spice-rubbed grass-fed rib eye.
