Sterling Napa Valley 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon,
$16.19-$31.99*, 89+ points, poured core black drifting purple/red toward the broad clear wine ring and lightly draped glass bowl.
Aromatic toasty black fruit, cedar, and a gentle hint of violet were excellent.
Full-bodied with fair-plus acidity and sweet firm tannins carried rich fruity flavors nuanced with striking black licorice and plums.
Finished long, a tad chalky, on plum, mulberry, iron, and a 14.6% inspirited warm spiciness.
Paired fine with my guacamole burger and cheese nachos.
The best of the three vintages I've had.
*$16.19 closeout at Hannaford's Super Market of Bedford.
