New Hampshire Wine-man (Exploring the world of wine in the tiny State of New Hampshire) Did you know that Granite is a wine descriptor? Ever wonder why these are called the White Mountains? Cardboard? As in corked?
ReplyDeleteDid your bottle have a natural cork or a screwcap?
Bill, with just a "hint", it would be beyond my expertise to say that this wine was corked, but it did approach the profile, and yes this had a cork (a beautiful cork); I believe that the 'newer' NV Porsecco has a screw-cap. Since some reviewers ("I shouldn't care what they think") have scored this wine as high as 91 points, I'd certainly reflect on that, and give another a taste.
DeleteYeah, I think this has been bottled with a screw cap for the past 2 years or so. So at the very least, you got a pretty darn old bottle (at least by Prosecco standards).
DeleteI think you'd be a little bit more impressed with a fresher bottle - and one free of any trace of cork taint.
