Hoopes Napa Valley "Oakville" 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $50.99-$59.99, 93 points, poured core black shading purple/red toward the distinctive clear wine ring and leggy glass bowl.
The robust bouquet of mulling spices, black currant, sandalwood, and sage was excellent.
Luscious full body stood firm on a backbone of good acidity and fine grainy tannins.
Flavors faithfully reflected the aromas with the added complexity of Damson plum, a hint of chocolate, and an orange citrus note.
Finished long on fig jam, oak, mulberries, white pepper, and a typical 14.9% alcohol.
Varietals were 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petite Sirah, and 1% Merlot.

This is one Oakville CS that I haven't tried. Have seen it around, but have never tasted it. I love the label, of course.
