Château Monbousquet 2009 Saint Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Wine, (A blast From The Past) $50.99-$64.99, 95 points, poured to a blood-red core with a garnet red penumbra, a thin clear meniscus, and moderate stained glass sheeting.
Aromatic with clinging black fruit, more a perfume than floral, mulling spice, and whispers of oak.
Full-bodied red wine with good acidity, enduring fine-grain tannin, and generous flavors of plum, tart black cherry, anise, and dried cooking herbs showed lovely and still powerful while edging with subtlety.
Finished with a plethora of subtle tertiary flavors, e.g., vanilla and tobacco, warm pepper spices, and a spot-on 14% alcohol.
Varietals were 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Paired perfectly with my spice-rubbed filet mignon.

It's been almost a month since my last post, but having gone through TKR surgery can do that; this token post is to let my followers know that "I'll be back", hopefully in a consistent way.
