Seaside Cellars Marlborough 2018 Sauvignon Blanc, $11.89-$15.99, 89 points, was a light yellow gold color and clearing toward the rim.
The nose was a balanced blend of hay, a hint of passion fruit, lemon meringue, and sweet blossoms.
Light bodied white wine with bright acidity and a rather coarse mouth-feel, but the flavors rightly reflected the nose, finished long with a quite tart to almost sour citrus and a well balanced 13% alcohol.
Paired well with my Maine lobster rolls
Not your archetypical Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc.

Sounds nice, good price and food friendly. What more could you want?
ReplyDeleteNot typical? Vinomaker had a NZ SB the other night (can't recall the producer) that ended up going down the sink. He too said it wasn't typical :)
Hehe! Not really funny; that's coin clanking down the drain! I know too much of that!
DeleteCall me perverse, but I sometimes get joy from disposing of a bad wine in that way :)
