Carol Shelton Wild Thing, Mendocino County, 2018 Old Vine Zinfandel

Carol Shelton Wild Thing, Mendocino County, 2018 Old Vine Zinfandel, $16.99-$21.99, 91 points, poured a ruby red color with copious stained-legs and a broad clear wine ring.
A lovely bouquet of complex spice-box aromas with cinnamon/red pepper, red cherry, red raspberries, and a floral vibe impressed.
A medium-bodied dry red wine showed good acidity, trimmed grainy tannins, good flavor reflections of the bouquet, and bright pepper-spiced infused 14.5% alcohol.
Finished fair, fruity, floral, and with a touch of licorice.
Paired fine with our pizza supreme.
A great buy with a high QPR as it was when I first tasted this offering ten year ago.
