Cantina Montalcino 2015 Brunello di Montalcino (DOCG), $29.74-$37.99, 93 points, poured a brandy copper-red color with a broad clear meniscus and hanging stained-legs.
Aromas were near dumb soft caramel, black tea, rose-pedal, cocoa, and cinnamon which were excellent.
A medium-bodied bone-dry red wine with good acidity, a firm blank of tannin, and flavors born out of the aromas.
Finished fair on the fading palate with a seemingly under-rated 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my hamburger pizza.
A high quality/price/ratio red wine, specifically Sangiovese, which puts to shame many Gran Selezione at much higher prices.
