Anne Amie (Willamette Valley, Oregon) 2014 Pinot Noir

Anne Amie (Willamette Valley, Oregon) 2014 Pinot Noir, $16.99-$24.99, 89 points, poured maroon grading a light candy-apple red with a broad clear wine ring.
Smells were earthy with a faint floral vibe.
Medium-bodied with fair acidity and a straight forward fruity red cherry flavor profile.
The tempo of this easy-drinking pleasant Pinot Noir continued through the fair finish, but with a kick@$$ afterburner of eucalyptus, warm spices, and a sweet-spot 13.4% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my preholiday-like turkey dinner.

Ninety + Cellars (90+) Languedoc Lot 33, 2015 Rosé

Ninety + Cellars (90+) Languedoc Lot 33, 2015 Rosé, $9.34-$11.99, 87 points, poured a Salmon pink color.
Aromas of strawberry and watermelon were okay.
Light, crisp, appropriately acidic, and fair flavors reflective of the aromas with hints of kiwi and melon rind were pleasant enough.
Finished fair with white pepper notes, hints of Necco Wafers, the trailing palate, and a well-integrated 13% alcohol.
Paired fine with my Maine steamed lobster.

Purple Heart Napa Valley 2013 Bordeaux-styled Red Wine

November Eleven (Veterans' Day)

Purple Heart Napa Valley 2013 Bordeaux-styled Red Wine, $17.99-$19.99, 88 points, poured deep, almost opaque maroon grading purple/red toward the broad clear wine ring and glass bowl with substantial sheeting.
The aromas were slightly unripe black currant, blueberry, and savory.
Medium-plus body carried good acidity and moderately strident tannins (a tad astringent), with flavors that reflected the aromas with black cherry and cola notes.
Finished fair on hints of tobacco, spicy red pepper, and a sweet-spot 14.2% alcohol.
Varietals were Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Paired perfectly with my spiced American lamb rib-chops.

O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, $76.49-$89.99, 95 points, poured inky black until midnight met the daylight of the crystal-clear wine ring and its blood-red margin.
Once again O'Shaughnessy provides a feast for the nose with a bounty of flowers, fruits, nuanced milling spices, and cedar wafting both itself and the smeller heavenward.
Full-bodied with good acidity and ultra-smooth firm grainy tannins managed the juiciest ripe blackberries I could imagine, anise, mint, and toasty black currants.
Finished long on the trailing palate, tangy pomegranate, plum, tobacco notes, warm spices, and a well-balanced 14.8% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my traditional strip-steak dinner.

Tom Gore 2015 Sauvignon Blanc

Tom Gore 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, $10.99-$14.99, 85 points, poured a light gold color grading clear toward the glass wall.
Grassy smells with a bit of fresh-cut hay and a subtle floral note were just okay for me.
The light body carried a not quite Cali-like SB which was just crisp and acidic enough, but seemed a bit weaker than most of the 2015 Cali SBs I've tasted.
Flavors of pear and cantaloupe, though okay, were lacking in intensity.
Finished fair with just a hint of white pepper, the trailing palate, and a typical, but innocuous 13.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with my Crab Rangoon and Chinese vegetables.

Washington Hills 2014 Late Harvest Riesling

Washington Hills 2014 Late Harvest Riesling, $9.99-$12.99, 84+ points, was a straw yellow color.
Aromatic fresh-cut hay, flowers, and a hint of pineapple were good.
Medium-bodied with fair acidity and flavors of pear, a hint of petrol, and marzipan were only okay for me.
Finished too sweet for my taste.
The 9% alcohol was innocuous.
Did not pair well with my Asian cuisine, but improved with spicy soft tacos.

So why do so many hate wine

So why do so many hate wine
Points/Scores/Ratings?

Why have so many cracked-up over another's method for remembering/chronicling and just keeping track of wines they like or don't?

If a wine review interests you, but you hate scores, why not just treat the number as a Myth?

"Methinks the lady doth protest too much."

Please, all you complaining wine writers and vintners, stop digging the same ground for something to talk about, and stop majoring in minors!
This morning I was listening, for the umpteenth time, to wine bloggers and commentators knocking wine scores, but I've still not heard them complaining about movie reviews scoring four or five stars.
Give it a break!

I'm capping-off my incredulity and annoyance as a Gentlemen by saying: John Doe 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon sucks!
Hope that works for those that hate wine scores.
