Chappellet Napa Valley (Pritchard Hill) 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, $53.54-$62.99, 92 points, poured an opaque Bordeaux red wine color with a clear wine ring.
This 2014 Pritchard hill Cabernet was fruity, floral, and dusty, silky, aromatic, and structured around a near full body of good acidity and firm grainy tannins.
Finished long on anise, warm spices, a hint of mint, and an appropriate 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our beefy Mexican cuisine.
Varietals were Bordeaux styled 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9/% Petit Verdot, dollops of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

Not wine related I know but we just took receipt of some new chickens, one a New Hampshire red......a feisty little thing! Vinogirl reckons you would approve.
ReplyDeleteThud: I do!
DeleteFor those that care about chickens (I had one for a pet as a little boy): New Hampshire Red
One more thing: everything food related is wine related! ;-)
DeleteI was still in England, on Thursday, when the NH Red arrived, nice hen...I suggested pairing it with a white :)
ReplyDeleteThis Chappellet sounds lovely.
VG: Ha! Enjoyed the bantam-ering!
DeleteSigh..... I remember when this wine was $28.
ReplyDeleteBig Gov. says there's no inflation!
DeleteI recently addressed this topic here: California Cabernet Sauvignon, The Growing Divide!
I listed ten excellent Cali Cabs for under $20, but none were as good as this Chappellet (JNO)
