Hahn Family Owned Vineyards Monterey County 2014 Chardonnay, $12.99-$14.99, 87 points, poured a deep glossy gold color.
The smell of oaky vanilla was a bit overwhelming, but hints of cantaloupe and nutmeg were good.
Near full-bodied with fair acidity and flavors reflective of the aromas were good too, but reminded me of stereotypical big oaky Cali Chardonnays; not really my preferred style.
Finished well with white pepper, the trailing palate, and a potent 14.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with my battered deep-fried Bay of Maine fresh haddock.
