Château Mongravey Margaux Cru Bourgeois Supérieur 2018 Bordeaux Red Wine, $33.99-$41.99, 93 points, poured core black grading to an unfiltered rosewood red with a moderately broad clear meniscus and copious stained legs.
An outstanding array of aromas showed a cornucopia of red and black fruits, cinnamon, cedar, cloves, and floral notes.
This Bordeaux was just shy of full-bodied with good acidity, firm supportive tannins, and rich flavors of red raspberry, cherry fruit, red pepper, mulling spice, and a hint of Crème brûlée.
Finished long on the trailing palate, a bit of citrus, and a perfect 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.
Paired well with our Sourdough cheddar grilled-cheese sandwiches.
