Tenet Wines "The Pundit" Columbia Valley 2013 Syrah

Tenet Wines "The Pundit" Columbia Valley 2013 Syrah, $20.69-$22.99, 88 points, poured tongue staining inky purple/red brightening toward the clear wine ring and leggy glass wall.
Smells of sandalwood, fresh laundered linen, cedar, and a buttery plum jam were rich and pleasant.
Full-bodied, fair acidity, and fine layered tannins carried flavors of plum, licorice, and a slightly syrupy black cherry liqueur.
Finished on a noticeable 14.3% alcohol, the long trailing palate, and good spice notes.
Paired okay with my Angus spiced rubbed rib-eye.
Bought at Whole Foods of Bedford, NH.

New Harbor Vineyards Marlborough 2013 Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand)

New Harbor Vineyards Marlborough 2013 Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand),  $9.99-$12.99, 90 points, was a pale golden color graying toward the glass bowl.
Aromatic lemon, tangerine, and a floral component with just a hint of gooseberry were most pleasant.
Light, crisp, acidic, and flavors reflective of the aromas with Lychee, pink grapefruit, tropical fruit, and hints of black pepper were outstanding.
Finished long on the trailing palate with a perfect 13% alcohol.
Paired well with my roasted, spicy ginger, and plum chicken.

Chilensis 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Reserva (Chile)

Chilensis 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Reserva (Chile), $8.99-$9.99, 85 points, was a light brass color.
Shy aromas of cantaloupe and citrus were just okay.
Light-bodied, good acidity, and flavors marked by tart citrus, melon rind, and soft ginger notes were just okay for me.
Finished fair on the trailing palate, a hint of white pepper, and a well-integrated 12.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with my yellow-fin tuna salad and beer battered fired shrimp.

Actum 2013 Sauvignon Blanc (Spain)

Actum 2013 Sauvignon Blanc (Spain), less than $10, 85 points, appeared a light copper color in contrast to the 2013 Chilensis SB which was a light brass color, probably due to Actum's cork and the resulting oxidation compared to Chilensis' twist-off cap.
Aromas of honeysuckle and apple were quite shy and non-descript.
The light body with good acidity carried rather dull apple, vanilla, and white pepper flavors, though the finish accentuated those flavors adding a touch of melon rind, quince, and a restrained 12% alcohol which made for a juicy quality.
Paired fine with my fried North Atlantic cod loin.

Domaine du Grand Moulin LoireTouraine 2014 Sauvignon Blanc (France)

Domaine du Grand Moulin Loire Touraine 2014 Sauvignon Blanc (France), $13.49-$14.99, 91 points, poured a light gold color.
Smells of lemon/lime, pome blossoms, and lovely melon aromas were excellent.
Light-bodied, vibrant acidity, stony minerality, and flavors reflective of the aromas with tangerine and just a scintilla of tasteful vanilla were also excellent.
Finished long on its stoniness, a well-integrated 12.5% alcohol, and the trailing palate.
Paired perfectly with my Massachusetts raw oysters with lemon and Cholula.

Roth Alexander Valley 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

Roth Alexander Valley 2013 Sauvignon Blanc,
$7.99-$14.99, 91 points, poured a rich golden color.
First whiff was lemony, but shy floral aromas followed.
Light-bodied, good acidity, and  rather smooth up front citrus flavors were good and mellow while restrained melon notes followed a nondescript honeysuckle.
Finished stylishly on white pepper and ginger with a well-integrated 14.1% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my butter sautéed Sea scallops.

Kungfu Girl Washington State 2014 Riesling

Kungfu Girl Riesling smakuje idealnie z owocami morza!

ไวน์ขาวแสงทำงานอย่างสมบูรณ์แบบด้วยอาหารไทย
Kungfu Girl Washington State 2014 Riesling, $9.49-$13.99, 88 points, was a light brass color.
The aroma was more apple than in the other vintages I've tasted, but pear and a floral component were good.
Light-bodied, crisp with good acidity and flavors which followed the lead of the nose were, as usual, tasty, but seemingly not as dry as I remember (off-dry).
Finished long on guava, hints of ginger, watermelon rind, a well-integrated 12% alcohol, and of course, Pome fruit.
