Achaval Ferrer Quimera Mendoza 2011 Red Wine

Dedicated to Dany (Market Basket) who coined the term "Tablescapes"!

Achaval Ferrer Quimera Mendoza 2011 Red Wine, $20.69-$45.99, 90+ points, poured core black trending quite purple toward the clear rim-ring and leggy glass wall.
Aromatic cedar, clove, and black currant were robust!
Full-bodied with good acidity and sweet supportive tannin complimented the rich fruit flavors of blueberry, black currant, and boysenberry. Other flavors of mint, pomegranate, and savory were more pronounced in the long finish with the warmth of the 14.5% alcohol and mild spice notes.
Varietals were predominantly Malbec, but Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot combined for a fundamentally Bordeaux-styled red wine.
