Château de Lestiac 2009 Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux Red Wine

Château de Lestiac 2009 Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux Red Wine, $9.49-$19.99, 90 points, poured opaque crushed black currant purple/red with a clear rim-ring at the heavily draped glass wall.
Toasty black fruit and hints of plum on the nose were fragrant and pleasant.
Full-bodied with good acidity, grainy enduring tannin, and flavors of blackberries, plum, cedar, sage, cola, and tobacco were quite good.
Finished long on the trailing palate, licorice, spice, a well integrated 14% alcohol, and pomegranate.
Varietals were 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
I expect this wine still needs time in the cellar, and I'm glad I bought more than one bottle. Still, a very good wine for the price, and though maybe a bit rough for a typical Cali Merlot lover, definitely a red wine to look for at the NHLS "Last chance" section.
