Château Plantey Cru Bourgeois Pauillac 2015 Bordeaux Red Wine, $28.79-$31.99, 91 points, poured a mottled black and deep purple/red with garnet red and clear penumbras toward the bowl of sticky wine drapes.
Smells of toasty black fruit jams, sweet floral vibes, and a nuanced coffee note were excellent.
Flavors were more red fruit than what the aromas suggested; they were tangy and delicious with red plum, cherry, and currant in a perfect blend.
Finished long on the trailing palate with a touch of mint, white pepper, and a well-balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.
Paired nicely with our rare spice-rubbed Angus rib eye.
