Château La Vieille Cure Fronsac 2009 Bordeaux Red Wine (Revisited), $29.74-$34.99, 93 points, poured core black grading to a reddish/purple with a crystal clear meniscus and torrential stained tears.
Aromatic toasty black fruit, mulling spice, a bit of savory, and chocolate were outstanding.
Full-bodied, round, showing good acidity and a fine underlayment of supportive tannins segwayed into a balanced generous flavor profile of blackberries, anise, plums, cinnamon, clove, and mint.
Finished long on the trailing palate with marvelous pepper spices, interesting and subtle hints of horseradish and eucalyptus, and properly accented by a warm 14.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 74% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon.
