Aromatic aromas of nutmeg, black tea, a hint of near rancid fat, and floral notes were interesting if not perfumed.
Medium-bodied dry red wine with good acidity, fine tannins, and lively flavors of cherry cola, earth, eucalyptus, and wood more than escaped the besmirching of the 'near rancid' descriptor.
Finished very long on the fading palate, more noticeable tannin, black tea, pepper spices, and a warm 14.5% alcohol.
Paired fine with my meatball-sub.
