Easton Amador County 2011 Zinfandel

Easton Amador County 2011 Zinfandel, $12.23-$17.77 89 points, appeared rosewood red trending maroon with a thin clear rim at the leggy glass wall.
Subtle earth notes with grape and cedar aromas were good.
The medium body carried surprising good acidity and a moderately unfolding tannin. (this is NO fruit bomb).
Flavors-hints of coffee and tobacco complimented the black cherry and mulberry flavors.
Finished on an escalating tannin, tart cherry, a hint of bourbon, and subtle spice.

  1. I was just reading up on Amador County Zins this morning. There is one, Todd Taylor, that I think I need to try.

    1. VG: Todd Taylor costs how much? My guess is that it won't be any better than the consistently very good Easton, but let me know! I can count on one hand the number of Amador County Zins I've tasted, but all have been very good except one.
