Tenute Silvio Nardi 2006 Brunello Di Montalcino, $35.99-$49.99, 95 points, poured shifting deep reds with grading orange to russet penumbras, a thin clear meniscus, and dense glass waves.
The aromatic bouquet of truffles, roses, cherry fruit, and black tea was outstanding.
Tipping over medium-bodied, with good acidity and a supportive plank of tannin translated the bouquet onto the palate with cola and tobacco flavors.
Finished quite long on the trailing palate, red pepper, oak, iron, and a spot-on 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our meat-lovers pizza.

I want this wine with meat pizza...who wouldn't?
ReplyDeleteVG: This wine is good by itself, but you are correct, and don't forget that it's great with many forms of CHOCOLATE!
