Casa Santos Lima 2018 Portuguese Red Wine (Vinho Regional Lisboa), $7.64-$10.99, 88 points, poured a deep pomegranate red with a lipstick-red penumbra, a broad clear wine ring, and dense stained legs.
Aromas of loam, soft floral notes, a hint of cocoa, and jelled cranberry were light and whimsical.
A medium-bodied slightly off-dry red wine with good acidity and a supportive underlayment of tannin managed good red fruit flavors nuanced with peach tea, iron, and tangy red raspberry.
Finished fair on the diminishing palate and a balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Paired well with a STEAK CHIMICHANGA.
