Charles Smith Evergreen Vineyard Columbia Valley 2019 Sparkling Chardonnay, $13.59-$15.99, 90 points, was a light brass color, clearing toward the rim, and pouring with a full head of foam.
Lovely aromas of peach, petrichor, and a hint of vanilla were good.
A medium-bodied off-dry sparkling white wine with fair to good acidity and flavors of Granny Smith apple with a touch of sourdough bread impressed me.
Finished long on the fading palate, a whisper of citrus, and a well-balanced 12.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my fried Ipswich clams.
