Alta Vista 2014 Malbec Rosé

Alta Vista 2014 Malbec Rosé, $10.99-$12.99, 85 points, was dark for a Rosé, but the light maroon was beautiful.
All I could get on the nose was a faint red-raspberry Kool-aide smell.
The light-plus body carried fair acidity, very mild tannin, and flavors of watermelon, red raspberry, with hints of mysterious tropical fruit; though these flavors were innocuous, they were a bit thin, and yes, I bought this Rosé for the label; guilty as charged!
Finished fair on the trailing palate, a gentle spice note, and a well integrated 13% alcohol.

  1. Trying hard to remember if I have ever had a rosé of Malbec...can't recall, but this sounds interesting.
