Ciacci Piccolomini D'Aragona 2007 Brunello Di Montalcino (Riserva Pianrosso Santa Caterina D'oro)

Ciacci Piccolomini D'Aragona 2007 Brunello Di Montalcino (Riserva Pianrosso Santa Caterina D'oro), $50.99-$59.99, 96 points, poured a core opaque blood-red grading brick-red and finally a copper color at the broad clear wine ring and leggy glass bowl.
Aromatic aromas of black cherry, roses, and bourbon notes with a hint of sandalwood were amazing.
Luscious medium-plus body, mouth-watering acidity, and layered grainy tannin combined in managing deep and balanced flavors reflective of the aromas with hints of mint and sweet tobacco.
Finished very long on a touch of caramel, subtle lingering flint with warm spice and alcohol (14.5%) notes.
One of the best Brunello Di Montalcino wines I've had.

  1. That's a great price for a Riserva of that age. Never had Ciacci's Riserva. In general, I am not a fan of their style. I'll have to keep an eye out for this.

    1. Rustic is ok. I like rustic. Their base Brunello to me is "dirty". It's beyond rustic.

  2. Nice review but I'm pretty sure that price is an error. That wine show up on Wine-Searcher in the $80s, and isn't even available in Europe at those retail prices...

I did just post the receipt here at this link. If you could let me know that you've seen it, I will then delete that post. The NHLOutlets are no showing 0 in stock!
