Trentadue Alexander Valley Estate 2013 Zinfandel

Trentadue Alexander Valley Estate 2013 Zinfandel, $16.99-$18.99, 86 points, poured ruby red grading more a pomegranate red toward the broad clear wine ring and leggy glass bowl.
With lots of fruit on the nose, from mulberry to red raspberry and drifting to an almost buttered toast aroma, I was sure this would be a robust expression of the Zinfandel grape: I wasn't wrong.
Near full-bodied with good acidity and slightly astringent tannin, the ripe flavors with an opposing green note were mostly reflective of the aromas adding a bit of licorice.
Finished long on the trailing palate, a hint of citrus, and an appropriate 14.6% alcohol.
Paired fine with our buffalo wings.
