Hammek Cellars 'Gran Pasas' Jumilla 2012 Monastrell (Mourvèdre)

Hammek Cellars 'Gran Pasas' Jumilla 2012 Monastrell (Mourvèdre), $11.99-$19.99, 89 points, poured core black grading purple/red toward the broad clear wine ring.
Aromatic black cherry with subtle Kahlua and cedar were intriguing.
Full-bodied with good acidity and dense tannins managed fruity flavors reflective of the aromas along with blackberry and plum.
Finished fair on the trailing palate, fig, easy spices, an appropriate 14% alcohol. and those very wooly tannins.
I love tannic wines, but this one was 'muscular' and daunting.
Paired fine with my Shepard's pie.
