Rocky Gully Frankland River 2014 Riesling (Western Australia)

Rocky Gully Frankland River 2014 Riesling (Western Australia),  $10.15-$24.99, 84 points, was a dark brass color.
Smells of petrol smothered all others.
Light-plus body with fair acidity translated the petrol aroma onto and throughout the palate, although hints of kiwi and melon rind seemed to round-off the rough edges.
Finished uneventfully and with a dry 11.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with our pupu platter.

  1. for me the petrol smell was overwhelming - and the odor lingers as it does on your hands after filling up your tank.
So pairing with any platter, unless I am really, really hungry, is a bridge too far for me.
