Comte de la Chevalière, Loire, 2023 Sancerre, $25.49-$32.99, 91 points, was a medium brass color with a graying penumbra.
A lovely, sweet apple/orange aroma was delicately nuanced with lemon zest.
This light-bodied Sancerre was appropriately dry and acidic, showed complex flavors of Necco wafer, floral and grassy notes, melon rind, and just a hint of grapefruit (quite nice).
Finished long, refreshing, a tad weak, and with a comfortable 12% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with fried cod and spicy veggie roll.
