Cantine Povero Priore 2021 Barolo DOCG, $32.29-$42.99, 92 points, poured a ruby red grading to pomegranate with a thin clear meniscus and clinging thin and stained legs.
Aromas of perfumed cranberry, dusty citrus notes, black tea, and a hint of mint leaf were subtle and lovely.
This Barolo was medium-bodied, bone-dry, showed bright acidity, robust fine-grainy tannins, and tasty cayenne pepper, tart cranberry, and tannic black tea.
Finished very long on the trailing palate, a hint of iron, and a deceptively (beware) big 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with a number of Italian dishes.
