Ricossa Antica Casa 2019 Barbaresco

Ricossa Antica Casa 2019 Barbaresco, $23.99-$34.99, 93 points, poured ruby red with copper highlights, a clear meniscus, and neckless of hanging legs.
Aromas of bright cinnamon, spicy red cherry, black tea, and rose pedal were lovely.
This "Baby Barolo" was delicious, showed good acidity, supportive grainy tannins, sleek texture, and a great rendition of the nose onto the palate.
Mid palate was a bit weak but finished fine on an invigorated late palate of caramel, cayenne pepper, and a spot-on 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my spaghetti and meatballs.

Movendo NV Moscato IGT

Movendo Moscato NV IGT, $9.59-$13.99, 90 points, was a platinum frost color with light brass highlights and near clear towards the rim.
The nose was near "dumb" with only hints of lemon oil, white chocolate, and spring fountain water.
A medium-bodied Moscato with fair acidity, modestly sweet, delivered tasty citrus flavors of grapefruit and lemon zest nuanced with honeydew melon and rock candy.
Finished wonderfully juicy and with a spot-on eight percent alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my spicy hot wings.

Louis Jadot 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé

Louis Jadot 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé, $22.39-$30.99, 88 points, was a core burnished bronze color and graying midway towards the glass rim.
Smells of newspaper, lemon oil, white chocolate, and melon rind were pleasant.
Louis Jadot 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé was medium-bodied, showed an up-front soft mouthfeel which quickly transitioned to a more intense tactile white pepper/ginger nuanced with flavors of wet stone, mint leaf, wood, and black pepper, and aided by a fair acidity.
Finished fair and with a well-balanced 13% alcohol.
Paired fine with my ALL-natural beef hotdogs and lime dessert.

Chalk Hill Estate 2023 Sauvignon Blanc

Chalk Hill Estate 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, $15.59-$23.99, 93 points, was a very light brass color with silver highlights and water clear towards the glass rim.
The beautiful aromas of fresh-cut grass, passion fruit, and lime zest were archetypical for an outstanding Cali Sauvignon Blanc.
Light-bodied, full of crisp acids, angular, edgy, and rich in flavors of citrus, pepper, lemon/lime peel, and a whisper of ginger.
Finished long, showed a floral hint, and energized by a 14.6% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my Yellowfin tuna salad.

Stemmari Sicilia 2022 Chardonnay DOC

Stemmari Sicilia 2022 Chardonnay DOC, $9.59-$13.99, 87 points, was a medium brass color and graying midway towards the glass rim.
Aromas were light and refreshing orange peel, lemon zest, pine resin, white chocolate, and a hint of mint.
This Chardonnay from Italy (I love Italian Chardonnay) was medium-bodied, showed good acidity, mineral water texture, and though flavors were a bit thin, still a tasty rendition of the nose with a bit of white pepper.
Finished fair on the fading palate, a bit sour, and with a well-balanced 13% alcohol.
Paired fine with my Salt and Vinegar wings.

Tenute Silvio Nardi 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino

Tenute Silvio Nardi 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino, $49.59-$69.99, 94 points, poured a rich ruby red with caramel highlights, a clear meniscus, and sticky legs.
The soft floral aromas were nuanced with near ripe strawberry, black tea, and shoe polish.
The medium-bodied Brunello was imbued with grainy tannins, high acidity, and intense alcohol-infused spiciness, caramel, and bourbon with hints of hibiscus, mint, and oak.
Finished long on the trailing palate and a big 15% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our spaghetti and meatballs.

Goldeneye Anderson Valley 2021 Pinot Noir

Goldeneye Anderson Valley 2021 Pinot Noir, $39.99-$59.99, 93 points, poured a lovely Burgundy red color with pomegranate red highlights, a broad clear meniscus, and moderate stained legs.
The bouquet was lovely red fruit, cinnamon, floral vibes, and just a hint of mint leaf.
In fourteen years, this was only my third Goldeneye PN (price is a good excuse), and this one was reminiscent of the 2019 vintage in many ways: body, acidity, tannins grainier, flavors of red fruit, especially red cherry/red raspberry, cinnamon, and hints of cayenne.
Finished long on the trailing palate, mulberry, tarragon, sage, and a well-balanced 14.2%.
Paired nicely with my Spanakopita.
