St. Francis White Splash 2010 White Wine, $7.64-$10.99, 86 points, begins in the glass so light a gold color that it's almost clear.
The nose, though weak, shows some cantaloupe and a hint of vanilla frosting, yet is off dry with good acidity; this near medium bodied white wine doesn't quite bridge the sweet barrier.
Flavors (light melon, tangerine, and hints of grapefruit) are a bit flat and unobtrusive, making for an okay accompaniment to my fried white fish and salad, but I wouldn't say that there was an enhancement of them either.
Finishing long on the receding palate with just a hint of ginger.
