J 2012 Pinot Gris, $11.04-$18.99, 91 points, appeared a light brass color trending grayish toward the glass wall.
Boisterous aromas of honeysuckle, cantaloupe, lemon and honey were rich.
Though this was a light bodied white wine, there was a depth of complexity unusual for a Pinot Gris, beginning with a creamy texture, flavors that mirrored the aroma, black pepper, and mint. This is an austere wine, very dry, granite notes, and finished with considerable warmth (13.8% alcohol), and an intense ginger spice.
