Tridente Castilla y León 2009 Tempranillo,
$10.19-$18.99, 90 points, poured with a transparent circumferential rim, near black toward the core, deep ruby hues, and heavy draping on the glass wall.
The complex aroma of toasty oak, black currant, plum, coffee, tobacco, and the kitchen sink with a hint of celery were very potent.
Full bodied with good acidity and moderate-plus tannin carried the aroma onto the palate with an escalating heat from the 15% alcohol which rolled into the long finish of spice and black licorice.
Paired perfectly with my buttered spinach/asparagus and rare rib-eye!
