Lee Family Farm Monterey 2013 Albarino

Lee Family Farm Monterey 2013 Albarino, $17.99, 90 points, was straw yellow.
The aroma was bright McIntosh apple.
Light-plus body carried good acidity and the most apple flavored non-apple wine I've ever tasted; there were hints of honeydew melon, apricot, and hazelnut.
Finished fine with spice and the noticeable 13.2% alcohol.

  1. McIntosh are my favourite apples. And I nearly bought an Albarino the other day, but settled for a franciacorta instead.

  2. Had a wonderful Napa Albarino last night, 2012 Hill family Estate.

    1. VG: I've got to think that when a winery bothers to produce a less know, hard to merchandise wine, they just might baby their production into 'perfection'. ;-)
