Enclos de Viaud Lalande de Pomerol 2010 Bordeaux Red Wine, $25.49-$34.99, 92 points, poured a rainbow of reds with a clear wine ring at the glass bowl.
Aromatic black licorice, plum, roses, and tanned leather were excellent.
First tasting impression was preceded by a silky mouth-feel, but the medium body managed good acidity, fine firm, almost astringent tannins, and a rich array of flavors, from cedar, plum, and anise to espresso.
Finished long on blackberry cordial, hot spices, hints of red raspberry and pomegranate with a warm 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my spiced Australian lamb rib-chops.
Varietals were 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
