La Maldita Rioja 2014 Granacha Red Wine, $8.49-$12.99, 86 points, poured a bright red with a clear wine ring at the thick legged glass bowl.
Beautiful floral bouquet accented by cherry aromas faded quickly.
Medium to medium-plus body, good acidity, dry, tannic, a bit green, but overall the flavors of violets, red cherry, red raspberry with hot white pepper were good.
Finished long on the trailing palate, a hint of spearmint, a noticeable yet restrained 13.5% alcohol, and an unusual citrus note.
Paired fine with my Philly cheese-steak sub.
