Groth Napa Valley 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

Groth Napa Valley 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, $9.00 (NHLS-promotional gift-card applied)-$24.99, 91 points, poured a polished bright bronzed-yellow color trending gray toward the shallow glass wall.
Though the apple/grapefruit aroma was subtle, it was quite good.
Aggressive light bodied Sauvignon Blanc with near austere acidity, high alcohol (14.2%), rather cut and dry white wine that somehow (I'll call it "balanced") works; had a straight-forward flavor profile of vanilla, minerals, and pome.
Finished very long on that alcohol, ginger, a hint of spearmint, and white pepper.

  1. I also got cantaloupe and peach when I tried this SB, lovely. Generally considered one of the best, if not THE best SB, in the Napa Valley.

    1. VG: I don't ever seem to get peach in their SBs, but that said others may take your highly-tuned palate to the bank. I preferred the 2012 and just a little less alcohol.
I certainly enjoyed the Merriam Vineyards Russian River Danielle's Estate 2013 Sauvignon Blanc more, but this was a little less $s and more true to its varietal.
