Nicole Chanrion Domaine de la Voute des Crozes Côte-de-Brouilly 2014 Gamay (Beaujolais)

Nicole Chanrion Domaine de la Voute des Crozes Côte-de-Brouilly 2014 Gamay (Beaujolais),
$15.29-$21.99, 88 points, poured a bright maroon with a noticeably broad clear wine ring.
Grapey and earthy with hints of sandalwood aromas were good, if not particularly complex.
Medium-bodied, good acidity, surprisingly tannic and dry, though comfortably layered, showed considerable structure for a Beaujolais.
Flavors of blueberry, raspberry, and red cherry with herbal notes were good as well.
Finished fine on hints of spearmint with a bit of wood, easy spice notes, and a reasonable 12.5% alcohol.
Paired great with my breaded/spiced pork chops, broccoli, and mashed red-skinned potatoes.
