El Coto Tinto Crianza 2013 Rioja Red Wine, $12.99-$14.99, 89 points, poured a bright garnet red with a broad clear wine ring and long fat legs.
Aromatic red fruit, flowers, and a hint of cedar were excellent.
Slightly heavier than medium-bodied, this red wine delivered good acidity and fine-grained tannins which supported a rather straight forward red fruit flavor profile nuanced by oak and earth.
Finished long on the trailing palate, easy pepper spices, and a spot-on 13% alcohol.
Paired well with my beef and beans chili.
