Silverado Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Silverado Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $46.99-$56.99, 93 points, poured broadly black with opaque purple/red toward the transparent wine ring and bowl of dense hanging legs.
With fading aromas of black currant, cedar, and sea-mist came a lovey whisper of mint.
Full-bodied with good acidity and fine grainy tannin supporting rich flavors of plum, truffle, blackberry, and a shadow reflection of the aromas.
Finished long on escalating and drying tannins, the trailing palate, white pepper, and a suitable 14.5% alcohol.

Fortress Sonoma County 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Fortress Sonoma County 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $21.99-$24.99, 91 points, poured core black grading ruby red with a clear wine ring and glass bowl of heavy sticky legs.
The bouquet showed complexity of lush black fruit, earthy, floral, and herbal aromas nuanced with coffee.
Full-bodied with good acidity and appropriately structured tannins delivered the aromas onto the whole palate accented with plum notes.
Finished long and earthy with an escalating 14.5% inspirited white pepper and a hint of mint.

Francis Coppola's Ivory Label 2011 Cabenet Sauvignon

Francis Coppola's Ivory Label 2011 Cabenet Sauvignon, $13.99-$17.99, 89 points, poured an opaque ruby-red and transitioned in layers of purple/red up to a thin orange/red ring at the still broad clear rim and lightly draped bowl.
Aromatic black currant, toasty fig, black olives, and a soft floral vibe were excellent.
Full-bodied (dry) with good acidity and soft supportive tannins managed to make herbal black currant and plum flavors taste quite good.
Finished with hints of red raspberry, pepper spice, and an appropriate 13.5% alcohol.
Paired fine with my spice-rubbed rare Angus T-bone steak and chips.

Caymus Napa Valley 2013 Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

Caymus Napa Valley 2013 Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, 96 points, poured broadly black with a thin penumbra of Shiraz purple/red, transparent rim ring, and glass bowl of dense clinging legs.
Aromas of black currant, soft floral notes, sea mist, and toasty blackberry were fragrant.
The embracing full body showed good acidity and plush supportive tannins.
Flavors of pepper spices, cherry fruit, licorice, blackberry liqueur, and truffle exploded into life and carried deep into the luxurious finish crowned with a potent 15.2% alcohol.
Caymus (SS) was a Christmas gift, but the current average price is $171.00, and NHLS sells it for $194.99, though it's not on their web page.

Wellington Vineyards Sonoma County 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Wellington Vineyards Sonoma County 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, $15.19-$18.99, 89+ points, poured core black trending an impregnable purple/red toward the still broad clear rim and leggy glass bowl.
Aromas of black fruit, soft floral notes, cedar, and oak notes were very good.
The silky medium-plus body showed good acidity and mellowed supportive tannins.
Excellent flavors of toast, licorice, red cherry, blackberry, and loam were well balanced and tasty.
Finished long on intensifying spice, earthy plum, tangy red cherry, and a well-balanced 14% alcohol.
I bought this Cabernet at the Whole Foods of Bedford.
Paired perfectly with my Papa Gino's sweet sausage pizza.

Robert Hall Paso Robles 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Hall Paso Robles 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, $19.99-$25.99, 87 points, was a deep ruby red with a broad clear rim and light legs.
Soft lavender, blackberry, cocoa, and mulberry aromas were pleasant enough.
Near full-bodied with good acidity and a supportive underlayment of tannin managed a straight-forward and broadly black fruit/plum flavor profile.
Finished well, a bit herbal, with white pepper, truffle, plum, and a hefty 14.5% alcohol.
Paired fine with our Mexican cuisine.
