Rio Madre Rioja 2011 Graciano, $8.99-$11.99, 87 points, appears nearly Shiraz purple-red with a clear rim.
A complex aroma of alcohol (14.5%), petrol, coffee and tobacco complement red cherry and blackberry fruit, all of which faithfully carry into palate flavors carried along on a near full bodied red wine with good acidity and mild tannin.
This juicy Graciano red wine (another varietal from Rioja) finishes fair with floral and spice notes.
This is an excellent value as are so many Spanish wines, and makes for a good choice as a red-table wine.
