Fincao Los Aljibes 2007 100% Cabernet Franc, approximately $18.00, 92 points, begins in the glass as a deep ruby with radiating orange hues toward the clear glass rim.
The nose showed black and red cherry, abundant licorice, and tobacco notes, but needed some teasing.
This is a full bodied red wine with good acidity, firm tannin, and a smooth texture.
The flavor profile follows the aroma, but finishes strong and long with a trailing palate, a hint of warmth (13.5% alcohol), and excellent black and white pepper.
Friends bought this wine at the Wine ConneXtion in North Andover, MA.
