Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva 2006 Red Wine, $9.99-$13.99, 89 points, poured a deep pomegranate red with an infringing orange hue up to the clear rim.Strong fragrance of chocolate, toast, and sweet red cherry on the nose dominated and paralleled the flavor profile.
A near smooth full body of good acidity and moderate tannin with other flavors of licorice and strawberry carried deep into a good finish with coffee notes, spice, and a well integrated 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals are 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo.
