Bodega Numanthia Terms 2015 Tinta de Toro, $22.49-$24.99, 92 points, poured mottled opaque deep ruby reds, a bright clear wine ring, and thick sticky stained glass sheeting.
Aromatic profuse cherry fruit with an herbal base were excellent.
A near full-bodied, full throttled red wine with good acidity and dense strident tannins managed to deliver a rich and pleasant mirror-image of the aromas onto the palate with some finesse, considering a (to many) intense tannic presence. Still, a rather silky mouthfeel hidden in the pucker: portending a great future in the cellar.
Finished long and tart on the trailing palate and a alcohol (15%) infused spiciness.
Paired perfectly with our loaded pizza.
One hundred percent Temparnillo varietal.
