Bodegas Javier San Pedro 'Randez' Rioja 2015 Tempranillo Red Wine, $10.99, 87 points, poured a deep garnet red with a transitioning bleeding meniscus and moderately fat hanging legs.
Aromas of perfumed mulberry and toast were pleasant.
Medium-bodied somewhat austere red wine showed that it's tannins had some 'weight', and with the vitality of bright acids, together they dominated the red fruit, black tea, and floral flavors.
Finished tart, dry, and spicy. Alcohol was a well balanced 13.5%.
Paired fine with my beefy Mexican cuisine.
