Tête-à-Tête, Domaine de la Terre Rouge Sierra Foothills 2008 Red Wine

Tête-à-Tête, Domaine de la Terre Rouge Sierra Foothills 2008 Red Wine (GSM), $17.92, 90 points, had a burgundy to ruby red color.
There was earth, chocolate, and mild spice on the nose, and the medium body carried good acidity and mellow tannin.
Flavors of blackberry and a light chalky plum with hints of licorice and coffee gave complexity to this wine, but in a lighter style than the most recently tasted red wines.
Finished with hints of black currant, mushrooms, and mild spices.
Tête-à-Tête's (head-to-head) varietals were, as best as I could ascertain, Syrah, Mourvdre, and Grenache.

  1. You're right, a GSM. Damn nice wine, it's been a while since I've had it. I met the winemaker years ago & the wines stuck with me. His Easton line was quite lovely as well.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen these wines around...
